Religious School Staff
lives in Fair Lawn is married and has 2 children. Michael is in his first year teaching at our religious school and currently is teaching 7th grade. Originally from Queens, NY, Michael holds a BA from Clark University and a JD from Pace University School of Law. When not teaching Michael enjoys scuba diving, sports, Jewish music and food. His favorite subject to teach is teen issues and ethics.
is married to Rabbi Yankelewitz and has 5 children and 8 wonderful grandchildren. She currently lives in Passaic but was born in Neptune, NJ. Miriam has been teaching at our religious school for 15 years and is currently teaching the 5th graders. She attended Touro College. When not teaching Mrs. Y enjoys reading, baking and swimming. Her favorite subject is Jewish life.
lives in Fair Lawn but was born in Israel. She has been teaching in our religious school for 5 years and is currently teaching 3rd graders. She attended the University at Albany. When not teaching she is a director at Huntington Learning Center. Revi loves to spend time with family and friends while also reading. Her favorite subject to teach is holidays.
is married and has 3 children. She currently lives in Fair Lawn but was born in the Bronx. She is in her 5th year of teaching at our religious school and now teaches 1st graders. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University and now teaches Children’s Yoga at preschools in Bergen County. Her hobbies consist of reading, making needlepoints, and running, swimming and spending time with her family. Her favorite subject to teach is Hanukkah.
mostly known around the religious school as Rabbi Y is married to Miriam Yankelewitz. He has 5 children and 8 wonderful grandchildren. It is his 13th year of teaching at Fair Lawn and currently teaches the 6th graders. He lives in Passaic but was born in the Bronx. He graduated from Beth Medrash Gouoha. His full time job is a teacher at Yeshiva of North Jersey in River Edge. Rabbi Y is known for his amazing story telling. When not teaching he enjoys reading science fiction and walking.
is married to Mattes Weingast and has 2 children. She lives in Passaic but was born in Newark, NJ. She has been working at our religious school for 20 years and currently teaches 2nd graders. Caryn has a BA and BS from Kean University and is working towards her MA. She works in Newark, NJ. She loves teaching her students and enjoys cooking and reading.
is a cherished member of our administrative staff. He comes to us from his longstanding affiliation with Bnai Israel for over twenty years. He is married to Eleanor and they are blessed with 3 sons and 8 grandchildren. Jerry is a retired school teacher and administrator from the Englewood District.
