Below are some of our events from last year. As the new semester gets under way, future events will be posted.

Please join the FLJC upper grades (5-7) as we meet with members of the Regional and local Kadima groups to discuss fun and exciting Jewish programming for our Jewish Youth!! Our meeting will take place during regularly scheduled school hours on Thursday January 10 from 4:15-5:00pm. We look forward to you getting to know more about the great youth program!

Please join us for the third installment of family learning as we present Southern Hospitality FLJC Style. Visiting with us will be noted children’s author, June Nislick as well as Rabbi Ronald Roth. The program will run from 10:00am-12;00PM and will include an orientation to the Crayon Project that the synagogue recently began.

BCHSJS Day at FLJC Please join our seventh grade kittah zayin for a special presentation by members of the Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies on Thursday January 17. Yoel Kaplan, the director of student life at the school will meet with our students from 4:50-5:30pm 50-530pm, while Fred Nagler, the principal will meet with interested parents to describe the program from 5:20-5:45pm. Thanks for taking the time to look towards our students’ continued education and development.

Our fifth-seventh graders are invited to join in a winter shabbaton on this Shabbat. We will enjoy Shabbat dinner together, join in song, learning and discussion while we explore aspects of Jewish identity. The vav and zayin classes will be leading services so we know it will be a great Shabbat! Our Saturday night program will be fun and informal. A separate mailing will follow with further details.

Start searching your homes and archives for Jewish memorabilia that is part of your family’s history! In the New Year our students will be researching various aspect of Jewish history accompanied by a presentation of unique artifacts of Jewish interest. Items to consider may include a photograph of the grandparents in Europe, an old Ketuba, a passport from the old country, or perhaps an old megillah or tallit that is part of your family’s rich Jewish biography.
